(*) Sub-species tigrinus (Souancé 1956) : lives in the Andean mountains, from the north-west of Venezuela to the center of Peru. Darker feather colors and striped spots reminding the tiger's skin. Certains articles mention one other sub-species, maculatus, but it is not correct.
